Our farm is committed to passing on food culture that is deeply connected to the land. In this Traditional Cha Guo Workshop, our guide will introduce the history of this classic Hong Kong snack. Cha Guo were not only a festive New Year treat for Hakka villagers in the New Territories, but they also carry the wisdom of rural life—using local ingredients and living in harmony with nature.
Under the guidance of an experienced tutor, participants will become traditional pastry chefs for a day. You will get hands-on experience in the entire process: mixing the dough, filling the Cha Guo, and steaming them on fresh leaves. Amidst the swirling steam and fragrant leaf aroma, everyone can enjoy a warm cooking time together, tasting the authentic farm flavour of "taking from nature, eating from nature."
