HKFYG Jockey Club Organic Farm

Established in 2010, HKFYG Jockey Club Organic Farm is dedicated to promoting healthy and sustainable lifestyles through organic produce and agricultural education programmes.

Nestled within the Tai Lam Country Park, the Farm spans over 160,000 square feet and is the first in Hong Kong to receive both the USDA organic certification and the Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre certification. It cultivates seasonal organic fruits and vegetables, producing 40,000 catties (about 24,000 kilogrammes) of crops annually to ensure a stable supply of organic produce. Harvested crops are delivered on the same day to homes, supermarkets, vegetable stalls and restaurants, guaranteeing freshness.

To support local farms and leisure agriculture, the Farm was the first to be approved by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department to join its "Farm+ Scheme." Year-round initiative which provides unique and enriching leisure experiences for schools, corporations, social welfare organisations and the general public, working together for sustainable development in Hong Kong and beyond.

In 2025, the Farm received funding from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust for a comprehensive renovation of its premises. Through smart, green building designs based on three main themes – "Smart Agriculture," "Low-Carbon Diet" and "Renewable Energy" – the newly renovated Farm showcases the role of agricultural technology in tackling climate change. It also fosters a low-carbon sustainable lifestyle, while continuing to provide organic products, educational activities and leisure spaces.

HKFYG Jockey Club Organic Farm is operated by The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG), a registered non-profit charitable organization. With a longstanding mission to promote the physical and mental wellbeing of young people, the HKFYG Jockey Club Organic Farm is dedicated to promoting healthy and sustainable lifestyles through organic produce and agricultural education programmes.

Along with its mission to grow health produce, the Farm is also committed to serving young people and dedication to meeting social and youth needs. Therefore, the Farm offers various experiential educational activities covering environmental protection, organic farming, food safety and holistic development. All these programmes encourage young people to embrace positive living, enhance physical and mental wellbeing, engage with social issues and take responsibility for environmental conservation.

The Farm’s mission is symbolized by its logo—a cabbage. The HKFYG grows healthy organic crops on the land and promotes organic practices and green messages. We encourage young people to engage in organic living, cultivating positive life attitudes and habits from a young age, like nurturing seedlings. This supports their physical and mental development and instills responsibility for environmental conservation, preparing them to become pillars of society. We also encourage citizens to support and participate in conservation work, working together to achieve sustainable development for Hong Kong and the world.
